Thief of Shadows by Elizabeth Hoyt

"Has anyone cherished you just for yourself?"
I wasn't highly anticipating this couple but they showed me and had some great heat between them. Our hero Winter is the epitome of still waters run deep. His and Isabel's back and forth, especially in regards to their sexual innuendos, had some spine tingling moments. I posted my favorite secondary characters of 2016 just this afternoon but let me add a late addition, Joseph Tinbox. Gah, I NEED his and Peach's story (this pairing has to happen).

I've only read the first of this series, but I liked it a lot! I overdosed on historical romance in 2013 and have been off the genre ever since! However, I did see that Lisa Kleypas has been writing historical romance again, so I think I might give it a go next year! I absolutely loved her Wallflowers series.
ReplyDeleteAnd, maybe I'll give Maiden Lane another go!
The world Hoyt has created is amazing, I love all the characters and how it all feels so cohesive and real.
DeleteI haven't read the new Kleypas yet, some mixed reviews but I'm salivating for Devil in Spring which is Evie and Seb's (Devil in Winter) grandson.
